What learning to fly teaches you about life
I wrote “Learning How to Fly an Airplane” (link below) to help pilots get their private pilot certificate. Now I’m writing “Roger That!” for anyone feeling a bit overwhelmed—but open to a new way of looking at life.
My perspective is what it was like as a beginning pilot. The more I learned about flying, the more each new experience changed how I approached everything. When you start to think like a pilot, you see the world differently.
"Roger That!" invites you to make your own discoveries from a wide range of topics, in whatever order you choose. Each follows the same format: An aviation concept is introduced. Examples are provided. Then the concept is applied to broader aspects of life.
Take Situational Awareness.
When you’re flying an airplane, there’s a lot going on in and out of the cockpit. You have a flight plan but you also have to adapt to constantly changing circumstances. Focused, disciplined awareness is the #1 pilot resource when faced with the unexpected. It can also help you navigate through unexpected challenges in life.
What do you say? Are you ready to take that first discovery flight? I invite you to join me in the cockpit for what I promise will be an amazing adventure.
