How the Bible Summaries Series is Written
Using AI
I’m a technical writer, not a Biblical expert. I’m taking on the Bible Summaries Series project to deepen my own understanding of the Bible, then sharing what I find with you.
To assist me in this huge project, I use AI.
Research
As a research assistant, AI acts as a synthesizer. Trained on a vast body of published material, it can quickly aggregate complex theological and historical information, then surface consensus views from mainstream scholarship.
Writing
I also use AI as a writing assistant. Here’s the process:
I select the topics. I write detailed prompts, revising and testing them repeatedly. Anthropic’s Claude produces a first draft. I carefully review and revise that draft. Google’s Gemini reviews the final version for accuracy and stylistic consistency.
The content created
The result is far from AI slop. I’m not writing literary fiction, where using AI would be a fraud. But for accurate, consistent, informational content, it’s an appropriate tool.
All that said, this content is only a starting point. The ultimate source is the Bible text itself. That’s why every topic starts with related Bible citations.
Given the way AI works, the topics are not based on one version or translation of the Bible. However, for quotes I use the NRSV (New Revised Standard Version), though I encourage you to consult a variety of versions. Many apps make that easy.
Judge for yourself
IMHO the combination of human and AI is outstanding—beyond what one person could achieve alone.

The Bible Summaries Series is an ongoing project. New topics are created as I work through the Old Testament and New Testament for Stories, People, Places, and Themes.
My goal is to publish the first ebook in the series, Stories, on Amazon Kindle Unlimited by the end of 2026.
